JanSport All Roads Lead to Austin 2017

With the goal to bring bands from all over the globe to one stage at SXSW in Austin, TX, JanSport teamed up with COLLiDE and sent 10 bands swag packs and asked them to create unique videos sharing their sound, culture and sights and sounds from their home city.  Three lucky bands were selected to perform day showcases based on the original and engaging content they provided.

JanSport will be back at Container Bar with COLLiDE on Rainey Street for three incredible days of live music. This year we followed the journey of Diamond Thug, Ratboys and Heat from their home cities to Austin.  Learn more about each band below:

Diamond Thug, a four-piece act from Cape Town, South Africa, has established a unique sound.  Connecting various genres, they create sublime soundscapes that provides the perfect foundation for lead singer melodies. The band uses every tool at their disposal to put on a live performance that leaves audiences in awe.

Ratboys are an American indie rock band hailing from Chicago, Illinois.  What started out as an acoustic two-piece band playing secret shows in small venues has transformed in to a foursome, who are quietly turning themselves into something much larger.

Alternative rock band, Heat from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, who have a British ‘80s vibe in their music.  They launched their debut album in January 2017 and continue to sonically discover themselves in the process – creating something special.
