Big City Mountaineers
Big City Mountaineers is the country's leading volunteer organization devoted to providing significant mentoring for urban teens through backcountry wilderness trips. The BCM program is an eight-day trip, the focus of which is a five-day backcountry backpacking or canoeing experience. While immersed in a pristine wilderness in the company of caring adults, the teens progress along an emotional journey that leaves many transformed with a greater sense of self.
JanSport is proud to lend a hand to Big City Mountaineers through financial support and by donating technical packs and apparel for its Summit for Someone annual benefit climbs and its summer programs.
Mountainfilm in Telluride
Mountainfilm in Telluride is America's leading independent documentary film festival. Its mission: "Mountainfilm is dedicated to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining."
The partnership allows JanSport the opportunity to converge with outdoor enthusiasts and activists from around the world, while helping the festival share these inspiring films with audiences around the world through local Mountainfilm On-Tour event partnerships.
Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics
The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands. Through relevant and targeted education, research and outreach, the Center ensures the long-term health of our natural world.
JanSport supports Leave No Trace through program funding, and through a program partnership with Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. JanSport helps to provide Leave No Trace curriculum education to over 20,000 Boy Scouts every summer.
Alameda County Community Food Bank
Since 1985, The Alameda County Community Food Bank has been at the forefront of hunger-relief efforts in the Bay Area. This year the Food Bank will distribute 24 million pounds of food, more than half of it farm-fresh produce. The Food Bank serves 1 in 6 Alameda County residents by distributing food through a network of 275 food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community organizations.
JanSport supports the ACCFB through financial support, as well as through JanSport employee volunteer sessions to aid the organization in their food distribution efforts.
USRowing is a nonprofit membership organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. USRowing selects, trains and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition including the world championships, Pan American Games and Olympics.
JanSport supports USRowing by supplying packs and travel gear to both the U23 and Senior teams as they train and compete around the globe.
International Mountain Guides, Inc.
JanSport partners with International Mountain Guides (IMG), an organization that organizes and leads climbing, trekking and mountaineering expeditions around the world, from the classic climbs of the Alps and Andes to the 8,000m peaks of the Himalayas. Since 1986, IMG has conducted hundreds of expeditions to destinations around the globe, and continues to be one of the most respected and active guiding companies in the world.
partnership leverages the experience of IMG's world-renowned guides, providing JanSport with a means to test its newest technical outdoor gear. In addition, IMG leads JanSport's annual Rainier Seminar, a 41-year-old tradition that brings together 16 individuals from around the globe to summit Rainier, a 14,410 ft mountain in Washington.
Outdoor Industry Association
The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) works diligently to raise the standards of the industry; increase participation in outdoor recreation to strengthen business markets; provide support services to improve member profitability; represent member interests in the legislative/regulatory process; promote professional training and legislative/regulatory process; promote professional training and education; support innovation; and offer cost-saving member benefits.
The partnership leverages the experience and relationships that the OIA and its members have with a variety of government and business organizations, which help inform JanSport about important outdoor initiatives and campaigns in the industry.
American Mountain Guides Association
The American Mountain Guides Association is a non-profit organization that seeks to represent the interests of mountain guides by providing support, education, and certification standards. The AMGA currently offers training courses and certification exams in the disciplines of rock climbing, alpine climbing and ski mountaineering.
JanSport is proud to sponsor the AMGA, as it allows the brand to support the many world-class rock, alpine and ski mountaineers who choose to further their education in the outdoors.
Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition
The OIWC is a non-profit association of women organized for the purpose of equipping women to reach their professional success in the outdoor industries via educational programming, networking and mentoring. Its mission: "Is to equip, educate and support women in the outdoor industries to recognize their professional goals." OIWC acts as a vehicle to promote the views and interests of women engaged in or impassioned by the outdoor, snow sports, action sports and bicycling industries.

The Conservation Alliance is an organization of outdoor businesses whose collective contributions support grassroots environmental organizations and their efforts to protect wild places where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. Alliance funds have played a key role in protecting rivers, trails, wildlands and climbing areas throughout North America.
JanSport is proud to be one of 180 member companies, helping to ensure that future generations have outdoor places to enjoy. Since its inception in 1989, the Alliance has contributed more than $9.5 million to grassroots environmental groups, helped save over 50.5 million acres of wildlands, stopped or removed 28 dams, and preserved access to more than 17,000 miles of waterways and several climbing areas.
