JanSport Presents a Free Concert in Austin, Texas

A free concert set under the stars at a secret location in Austin on Sept. 23. In light of Austin's wildfires, JanSport donates to The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB).

San Leandro, Calif., (September 7, 2011) - JanSport®, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, today announced Austin, Texas as the third and final location for its second annual concert series under the stars. Although historically branded as the Bonfire Sessions, in light of the current wildfire disaster in Austin, JanSport will refrain from using the event name in any event promotion. This free concert will take place at an undisclosed location on Friday, September 23, 2011.

The Bonfire Sessions' first stop took place at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, WA, where indie-folk quartet, The Moondoggies, showcased their a cappella, rock style for fans during an outdoor concert set under the stars. The second stop is set to take place in Montreal, QC on September 10 with a live performance by indie rock band, Stars.

The third and final stop for this year's concert series will take place in Austin, TX, the live music capital of the world, on September, 23, 2011. JanSport will announce Austin's special guest artist on Monday, September 12, in addition to the concert location, two days prior to the event. To receive concert location information one day before the public, fans are encouraged to RSVP to the free show at JanSport's music blog, Unzipped (www.jansport.com/unzipped).

"Last August we celebrated our inaugural Bonfire Sessions event in our birthplace of Seattle, WA, and we were thrilled to feature local Seattle indie-folk band, The Cave Singers," said Courtney Blacker, JanSport brand director. "While we are very much looking forward joining one of the world's foremost music communities for this special concert under the stars, we can't help but want to give back to the fire victims suffering in this very community."

JanSport will make a financial donation to The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB), www.austinfoodbank.org. Funds raised will go directly to helping CAFB in this disaster response.

Admission to JanSport's concert in Austin is free, but space is limited. To receive event news before it's published, RSVP to the event at JanSport's Unzipped music blog, www.jansport.com/unzipped.
