NEW YORK, NY and SAN LEANDRO, CA, (February 28, 2012) - JanSport today announces its third annual Bonfire Sessions, a free outdoor concert series with music brought to you in partnership with Noisey, VICE's music channel. The JanSport Bonfire Sessions bring music fans free events featuring bands and a bonfire under the big sky. The series will premiere Tuesday, March 13th at Mowhawk Bar on 912 Red River Street in Austin, TX with a free concert headlined by Austin foursome White Denim. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the showcase will start at 1:00 p.m. The event is 18+ to attend.
The Austin Bonfire Sessions with music brought to you in partnership with Noisey
Hometown headliners White Denim have been at it since 2006, pumping out psych-garage bangers that harken back to the lost art of jam. Other bands in the line-up include Strange Boys, who simultaneously define and defy rock in 2012, post-punk band Bear Hands, hailing from the great borough of Brooklyn, and new kids Fly Golden Eagle, who present a new take on balmy, jangly indie pop.
In addition to the concert line-up, local artist Justin David Cox will create a unique poster for the Austin Bonfire Sessions, and concertgoers will receive limited edition silk-screened prints at the show. Cox is a designer and photographer living in Austin, Texas. He works out of a shared space in east Austin known as Public School.
Admission to The JanSport Bonfire Sessions in Austin is free, but space is limited. To receive event news before it's published, RSVP at www.jansport.com/bonfiresessions.

Bands and A Bonfire Under the Big Sky
The third annual JanSport Bonfire Sessions will take place in five cities across North America. The idea is simple - a free outdoor concert featuring a locally adored band and a bonfire. This year, the live performances in Austin, Palm Springs, Toronto, Seattle and San Francisco will be captured on film for a new live music documentary series on Noisey.com. Posters for each event will be created by a local artist as well and will be given away to fans at the show.
