Why can't I order a pack directly from JanSport?

JanSport does not take direct orders at this time. Although we recognize the potential value and convenience of direct sales through our website, we continue to be a wholesale company selling products through leading retailers. Our website provides both online retailer links as well as a local retailer locator for you to find our product with greater ease.

If I don't find a backpack at a store or online, can I special order it?

Since JanSport does not sell backpacks directly to consumers, you cannot special order an item from us. What you CAN do is visit or call your local JanSport retailer to see if they can accomodate your request. A list of retailers can be found here (http://www.jansport.com/js_findastore.php). The easiest way to purchase an item that you see on our site is to select a bag on JanSport.com and click " Buy Online". JanSport.com will then direct you to online retailers that carry the specific product you're looking for and you can order it directly from them.

I want to see all of the products JanSport currently is selling. How can I get a catalog sent to me?

While we know that people love catalogs, we simply feel that a "visual" catalog (our website) is better equipped to handle all of the requests. With the retailer locator included with the product pictures, our guests get the best of both worlds. Why settle for a catalog when you have JanSport.com!

I am looking for (fill in the blank) pack from (fill in the blank) years ago? Do you happen to have any laying around?

Although we'd love to say that buried deep, deep in our warehouse is a sparkling new version of your external frame pack from 1987, the fact is that's just not the case. The product line we currently have released in retailers is reflected on our website, while packs a few seasons older may be located in retail shops.

I don't get it. Why do you guys make packs specifically designed for women?

It's simple, really. For a pack to provide women an accurate and comfortable fit, it has to be based on women's bodies. Since most women's packs are just men's packs in women's colors, JanSport has developed a line of Women's technical packs, including daypacks, hydration packs and internal frame packs. All the women's packs include shorter shoulder straps with ergonomic curves for women's torsos, increased neck room, and a soft, moisture-wicking mesh liner. Women's daypacks and particularly women's internals also have a shorter torso length and generally a narrower back. Shorter women often have the hardest time getting a good fit, with packs towering over their heads, so we make a special Women's Short torso size. Since women's hips are not shaped like men's, and women tend to wear their hipbelts above the hipbone, the hipbelts on internals are curved and angled for an optimum fit.
