    Comments about JanSport DRIVER 8:

These brands of backpacks are very well built. They will never need to be replaced due to wear. We had a smaller one but just decided to get a bigger one to carry more stuff inside for school.

    Comments about JanSport DRIVER 8:

I am back for my second bag and would have given this a higher rating except for the handle. It broke within the first 2 weeks. Jansport did replace it for free but only because it was within the first two weeks but when my daughters rolling backpack handle broke we didn't bother with the warranty hassle. By the end of the school year my son's handle broke again as well as the stitching around the zipper began to pull apart. I am obviously crazy for coming back to order a product that has mechanical issues, but it is the only product on the market that my disabled son can maneuver comfortably through the hallways of his middle school. He had open heart surgery so he can't carry a back pack and Jansport wheels are fantastic as well as the structure of the bottom of their back pack. It is made very well. So I will take the good with the bad and order another rolling backpack. All in all it is a very good back except for the handle.

I use this bag daily-- it holds many files, a laptop, ipad, books--and anything is I can throw in it. I have used it everyday for about four years--before it even started to show wear. The handle glides easily, wheels make it easy to pull--have even pulled it across grass with no difficulty. I love that it stands up without tipping over like some bags do with wheels on them.

        Comments about JanSport DRIVER 8:

I'm keeping this backpack because it's light and rolls very nicely and Jansport will repair the wheels when I need it, which I eventually will with my long walking commutes. Sadly, this backpack's compartments are not well designed. The main compartment with the backpack sleeve has the zipper too far back and under a flap of fabric so that this key section is hard to zip open and closed and makes it awkward to pull things in and out. The laptop sleeve is between two major compartments so my poor computer potentially has large objects jabbing it from both sides, and there's hardly any padding. It's hard to tell what the two middle compartments are supposed to be for -- at any rate they're shallow and deep so it's hard to keep anything organized there. One main compartment both wide and deep with an easily-accessible padded laptop pocket plus one smaller section designed for wallet/phone/pens/keys would be more convenient than four shallow, awkward-access compartments. I advise Jansport to buy other retailer's roller bags and study their superior compartment design. I'm still a Jansport customer because this backpack moves like a dream and feels sturdy and I won't have to throw it out and replace it every eight months due to broken wheels, as I did with my bags from another retailer, but I'm sad that this bag is so awkward to use otherwise.

For daily use I have a JanSport backpack I got in the 90s. It's been repaired several times always for free and with care. This wheelie-backpack I use for airline travel. It easily fits a few days clothes and my business papers and books. It's effortless to roll through airports and it fits easily into the overhead compartment of even small planes. I love the various pockets for different size things. I've had this bag for 4 years and just got another for my wife. The JanSport people and products are what every company should aspire to be -- courteous, concerned, enduring and they stand behind their product.

              Comments about JanSport DRIVER 8:

I am a disabled veteran, USMC, the VA purchased one of these and a backpack to accommodate my disability to carry my college books, etc. I am a full time student and have to carry my laptop, books, etc in this. I sometimes have so much that I have to carry my JanSport backpack too. Some students are now using rolling crates for all their school gear but are not very functional when it rains since Fall, Winter, and Spring are spent during the rainy season. I keep the heavy items in the rolling backpack and it makes a big difference. From carrying so much gear my backpack tore from one of the shoulder straps after several years of carrying books; JansPort repaired it with no problem. I had so much gear in my rolling backpack that the stitching tore and JansPort replaced the rolling backpack too. One has to consider the constant movement at school like going up and down stairs, stashing it under a desk, then studying at the library, including homework, travel from and to school. Some people are lucky to get by with just a tablet computer, then there are the child prodigies that get to go to college at 9 or 10 years of age, but some of us need to carry our books and need accommodations to study. I am now getting my driver 8 replaced again because of a defective handle.

JanSport really stands by its products. Every manufacturer will have some issues with some of their products and I am so thankful JanSport is there when it does. I am almost finished with my studies at the university and will keep my JanSport bags long after.

                      Comments about JanSport DRIVER 8:

This was purchased for my 4th grade son so he doesnt have to carry his other Jansport back pack on his back. This is a fast growing trend so students can carry their stuff around at school. I see many different vendor types of this new concept for students and some seem way to big or like the first one I bought him ( different vendor) was just to small for 60 bucks. This one by Jansport has the best wheels and handle and bottom protection. He can fit his 3 inch binder/couple text books/2 soft lunch boxes ( one is for after school before football meal)a U10 size football and his hooded sweatshirt with room to spare. The drink holder on side fits a gatorade bottle very well and tight. The only thing I would like to see in the future is maybe a ice cold storage soft compartment for keeping his perisable colder longer verses his soft lunch box. Its not necessary. The only reason why I suggested it is because I have absolutly nothing to complain about with this product. I looked at all the other top vendors and the 100 dollars I spent on this is sure to give years of service. Good job JanSport on keeping with quality and fair price for a rolling back pack that my son absolutly loves.

My middle school child loved this backpack so much that I am back to purchase one for her brother. It is a great rolling backpack. Glides really easy. Only complaint is that I wish it had 2 side pockets for water bottles. The 1 pocket is has is nice and large.
