      Comments about JanSport TULARE BACKPACK:

Tulare, I really wanted to love you. Your spacious compartments. The cute pouch to protect my ipad. The top soft pocket to hold my sunglasses and/or headphones. But you have one hole in your armor, Tulare. One maniacal problem that haunts me every time I step out my front door with you hugging my back like Yoda on Dagobah: the straps. The straps that get hooked on the wheelchair of the person next to me on my daily commute. The straps that manage to hang out of the overhead compartment like some nightmare squid from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The straps that my dog attacks, because they clearly are a threat and not of this world.

I get that a hip strap and sternum strap would be great for long hikes, but as a gym bag or a commuter bag (my primary uses) the straps are a hinderance.

          Comments about JanSport TULARE BACKPACK:

This pack is made of solid construction with really comfortable straps that distribute the weight of the pack nicely. There's lot's of pockets. Everything has a place and nothing is bouncing around loose in a big compartment. It even has a compartment that I dedicate to my ipad. Doesn't fit my 17" mac laptop in the laptop sleeve (which is why it says "fits 15" laptop"), but it fits just fine in the main compartment. I opted for the black, but the colors are pretty nicely done as well. I think the cool green color is out of stock now. Go figure. That was the one I sorta had my eye on too. Anyway, did I mention there's lots of pockets.
