Introducing the JanSport x UNCF Scholarship Program

Charli Moore Sep 28, 2022

Here at JanSport, we stand with those who seek racial justice.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with the UNCF, the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. Read on to find out more about this exciting partnership—as well as how you can get involved.

What does UNCF do?

UNCF helps fund scholarships for minority group students at 37 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).They’re striving for a nation where all Americans have equal access to a college education that prepares them for rich, intellectual lives, competitive and fulfilling careers, engaged citizenship, and service to the country. In order to make that happen, UNCF creates support programs, builds awareness of educational opportunities within the Black community, and awards more than $100 million in scholarships every year.

How can you help UNCF?

If you believe in UNCF’s mission, there are plenty of ways to volunteer your time and make a difference in someone else’s life. Consider joining a UNCF leadership council or attending a local UNCF event. You could also organize a fundraiser and donate the proceeds to UNCF.

Another way to contribute: Make a donation to help students in need of scholarships. The money you donate will help students with college costs, such as tuition, textbooks, and other school supplies. You can make a one-off donation or set up monthly giving online. And, if you have a job, you might want to ask your human resources department whether the company offers a workplace giving opportunity or a matching gift program.

What’s the deal with JanSport x UNCF’s scholarship?

We’ve teamed up with UNCF to award four recipients a scholarship of up to $20,000 each while attending up to four years of college. The first round of scholarship applications will be open for college students entering the 2021-2022 school year.
